Mobile Wound Care Across Delaware

Wound care that comes to the patient, in residences and care facilities, alongside our six Delaware offices.

Wound Care Delaware describes its own service this way:

“Wound Care Delaware provides mobile wound care services across Delaware, offering at-home conservative wound debridement for chronic and acute wounds, serving patients in residences and care facilities statewide.”

That description is the practice’s own published summary of what it does. The rest of this page explains what mobile wound care means in general terms and where to reach the practice; it does not add any service, treatment or claim beyond what Wound Care Delaware itself publishes.

Why wound care travels well and patients often don’t

Chronic and diabetic wounds are managed over weeks and months, not in a single visit. Dressings need changing on a schedule, non-viable tissue needs removing, and the wound bed needs looking at often enough that a change in direction is caught early. That rhythm is the whole treatment.

It is also the part that most often breaks down. The people most likely to have a non-healing wound are frequently the people least able to travel for it: someone in an offloading device or a total contact cast, someone managing a sacral pressure injury, someone whose neuropathy or vascular disease already limits how far they move. When getting to an appointment is the hard part, appointments get missed, and gaps in wound care are not neutral.

What a mobile visit involves

In general, a mobile wound care visit covers the same ground as a clinic visit: assessing the wound and the surrounding skin, measuring and documenting change since the last visit, cleaning and debriding where that is indicated, selecting and applying an appropriate dressing, and agreeing what happens next and when. What is appropriate in any individual case is a clinical judgement for the treating clinician.

Care facilities and long-term care

Wound Care Delaware’s published description names both residences and care facilities. For skilled-nursing and long-term-care settings, the practice maintains a dedicated service page covering pressure sore and ulcer management for residents; see Nursing Home Ulcer Treatment and Care.

Payment

The practice publishes acceptance of Medicare Part B and Medicare Advantage. No other insurance, plan or network arrangement is published, and coverage for any individual patient should be confirmed directly with the practice before a first visit.

Mobile wound care: common questions

What is mobile wound care?
Mobile wound care means the clinician travels to the patient rather than the patient traveling to a clinic. Assessment, dressing changes, debridement and ongoing monitoring are carried out where the patient already is, at home, or in a residential or skilled-nursing facility.
Where does Wound Care Delaware provide mobile wound care?
The practice describes itself as serving patients in residences and care facilities statewide, alongside its six Delaware offices in Newark, Middletown, Dover, Milford, Georgetown and Seaford. Call the location nearest you to confirm coverage for a specific address.
Why does traveling to a wound clinic matter for some patients?
Chronic and diabetic wounds often affect people whose mobility is already limited: by neuropathy, by an offloading device or cast, by a pressure injury, or by other conditions. Repeated travel for frequent dressing changes is a practical barrier to consistent care, and consistency is a large part of what wound management depends on.
Does Wound Care Delaware also see patients in an office?
Yes. There are six Wound Care Delaware locations across New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties, each with its own direct phone number. Call the location nearest you to confirm which services it offers.
